In March 2020, Pete Reid was invited by the Houston Bar Association – Entertainment & Sports Law Section to speak about soccer related legal issues in Texas. The full name of the program was “Major League Soccer and the 2026 World Cup: The Future of Soccer in Texas and Related Legal Issues”.

Pete Reid was joined by Chris Canetti who is now President of the Houston 2026 World Cup Bid Committee and Zac Emmons, Vice President, Marketing and Communications of the Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash.

The presentation took place at Pitch 25 Beer Park, in the shadow of BBVA Stadium in Houston, and featured a discussion of legal issues related to Major League Soccer, and Houston’s bid to be a host city for the 2026 World Cup.  The panel also discussed the World Cup host city bidding process, Major League’s Soccer expansion into Austin with Austin FC, and the current and future activities of the Houston Dynamo organization.
