New Offices

Pete Reid Law, PLLC has completed a move into new offices on the sixth floor of the legendary Littlefield Building, at the corner of Congress Avenue and Sixth Street in Austin, Texas.

Prior to Pete Reid, the most famous tenant of the building was Lyndon Baines Johnson in 1935. Twenty-six-year-old LBJ and his staff put in long days there, often working by the original gas lights, since the building superintendent switched off the generator that supplied electricity promptly at 10 pm.

Pete Reid Law will continue this tradition of hard work and long hours on the fabled sixth floor, in an office suite that is also home to the highly successful and respected Law Office of John S. Rubin, PLLC.

High Profile Victory

As reported last week in the New York Times and on MSNBC, the New York Supreme Court has dismissed a lawsuit that challenged a City decision to allow construction of the Islamic cultural center in downtown New York City, also known as the ‘Ground Zero Mosque’.

Agreeing with the motion papers drafted by Pete Reid, Judge Paul Feinman wrote that the Plaintiff was “an individual with a strong interest in preservation of the building”, but that he lacked the necessary legal standing to bring such a lawsuit.

The full decision can be read here.
